A 2.8 second occultation was recorded by Brian Loader from Darfield on the South Island of New Zealand. This observation was based on a personal prediction and no other reports were received.

Discussion:
The circle above is plotted at the expected 53 km diameter of (284) Amalia. With only one chord it is not possible to determine whether Brian was north or south of the central line of the event so the circle has been plotted centrally on the observed chord .
This was a very shallow occultation - a small drop in observed magnitude. The timings have been derived from AOTA (module in Occult). The figure below shows the Tangra light curve of the occultation.
