John Broughton observed two chords of this event from locations in northern New South Wales while also observing two misses further north. Chris Wyatt observed an occultation from near Walcha and Robert Horvat reported a miss from the Blue Mountains area.

Discussion:

There are two models contained in the DAMIT database for (65) Cybele. Neither model accomodates the observed chords in any sort of satisfactory manner. There have been no previous occultations with sufficient chords to confirm the models so it will remain to some future occultation to resolve this uncertainty.
