2000 AM203 Update Map


On 2017 Jan 09 UT, the 22 km diameter asteroid (26482) 2000 AM203 will occult a 6.0 mag star, 6 Sextantis, in the constellation Sextans for observers along a large uncertainty path beginning near Brisbane, running across south-east Queensland, northern and western New South Wales and South Australia, passing over Wallaroo and Port Lincoln.

In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 11.70 mag to 13.70 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 2.4 seconds.

This update is based on, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
