On 2020 Jul 03 UT, the 23.8 km diameter asteroid (453) Tea will occult a 10.4 mag star in the constellation Sagittarius for observers along a path across New Zealand, from Tokomara across the North Island of to just south of Auckland and across Australia from near Coffs Harbour across north-eastern New South Wales, south-western Queensland, southern Northern Territory and into northern Western Australia near Halls Creek at decreasing elevation and into evening twilight.

In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 2.28 mag to 12.54 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 3.4 seconds.

This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
